PERMANENT RESIDENCE IN PARAGUAY – SIMPLE AND FAST REGULATION INTENDED TO ENCOURAGE THE FLOW OF IMMIGRANTS AND INVESTMENTS IN PARAGUAY.
The procedure for permanent residence in Paraguay is quick and simple. The current legal regulations establish the following requirements to access the status of permanent resident in Paraguay:
1. Foreign documents:
a. Copy of passport
b. Visa (if necessary)
c. Birth certificate
d. Police record certificate from the country of origin or the country of residence for the last 5 years. In the latter case, a document is additionally required that certifies that the applicant resided in that country during the last 5 years.
e. Civil status certificate in case of being married, divorced or widowed.
Documents (c), (d) and (e) must be legalized or apostilled and translated by a public translator registered in Paraguay. Documents (a) and (b) must be translated by a public translator registered in Paraguay.
2. Local documents:
a. Certificate of life and residence issued by the Paraguayan National Police
b. Medical certificate that the applicant is in good physical condition and free from infectious-contagious diseases
c. Sworn statement stating that the applicant will comply with the provisions of the National Constitution
d. Interpol Certificate issued by the Interpol Department of the Paraguayan National Police
e. Police record certificate for foreigners issued by the Paraguayan National Police
f. Deposit: Gs. 31.055.000 (approximately USD 4,500) in the Banco Nacional de Fomento to prove economic solvency.
